For more than 30 years exclusively during the first weekend in March (Feb 28 to March 2 for 2025), we have enjoyed flying over the Methow Valley and the old frontier town of Winthrop. We started just flying there for ourselves. But when some of our passengers heard what we were up to, they wanted to be a part of it…so, welcome to our “working vacation,” the Winthrop Weekend. This very exclusive weekend getaway includes the following: Two nights’ stay at the Sun Mountain Lodge, and a balloon ride over the snow-covered Methow Valley. Sun Mountain Lodge is one of the finest resorts in the state, and these are some of the best flights we do all year. It’s definitely worth the drive! The rate is approximately $650.00 per person inclusive, based on double occupancy, and is worth every penny (the actual rate will be determined by the number of passengers participating in the event)!There is also the option of booking just the balloon ride if you want to make your own lodging arrangements. Of course, the flights are weather permitting, but if the weather doesn’t allow for your flight, then we’ll issue you a certificate good for a flight in our home valley, good for the following year. Either way, you can’t miss! Winthrop is a great town to visit, even without the balloon ride.

Rates are on a sliding scale depending on how many days the balloon is on display. If you really need to advertise in a big way, this is the way to do it. Please call for details. Tethered Balloon Operations We can bring one of our standard balloons to your company party, civic festival, wedding, or any other function where there’s a crowd who wants to experience a tethered balloon ride. The nine-story tall balloon is tied to the earth and rises approximately 30 to 50 feet into the air, taking six passengers at a time for three to five minutes per ride. This will make your event truly stand out in everyone’s memory! The rate is $1900.00 per hour, with a two-hour minimum. We’ll be happy to send you a contract with complete information.
