Float above quiet farms, rolling ridges, and open fields as the early light pours over King County. With Balloon Depot, every moment in the sky feels calm, steady, and full of wonder. There’s no rush—just a soft climb and sweeping views that turn a regular morning into something extraordinary without trying too hard to impress.
When people choose hot air balloon rides in King County, they’re choosing to slow down and take in the land from a fresh view. It’s not about thrills—it’s about drifting gently over the earth while wrapped in silence and fresh air. The ride is smooth, scenic, and perfectly paced, with enough time to soak in every detail without missing a beat.
Just a scenic 35–40 minute drive from Bellevue, WA, you’ll arrive to find your pilot and crew preparing your balloon in Snohomish. Watch the massive envelope inflate and feel the excitement grow.
When the burners roar and the basket rises, Bellevue’s cityscape turns into a mosaic of verdant valleys, twisting rivers, and snow-capped peaks. You might be able to see Mt. Rainier, the Seattle cityscape, or even the Olympic Mountains in the distance.
As you wander, the world slows down. The only sounds are the soft hiss of the burner and the wind. Now is the moment to converse, laugh, or just embrace each other and watch the horizon transform.
When you land, we’ll salute your trip with a traditional glass of champagne or sparkling cider and some light snacks. We do this to commemorate the long history of ballooning and to make your day end perfectly.
Our “Romance Aloft” package gives you a one-hour flight, a champagne (or sparkling cider) toast after landing, light refreshments, and plenty of opportunities for photos that capture the magic forever.
“Romance Aloft” Private Flight for 2 Persons
Our launch place is only a short, beautiful drive from Bellevue, so you can get away from the city while still being close to it.
From the basket, you may see Bellevue's skyline, Lake Washington, the Cascade peaks, beautiful valleys, and flowing rivers in one stunning view.
The gentle golden light, wide-open spaces, and skyline of Bellevue make it the perfect place for engagement, anniversary, or casual travel photos.
We suggest scheduling at least three to four weeks in advance, especially for flights on the weekend or during high season, because private flights are hard to get.
Wear layers of comfy clothes that are appropriate for the weather. You must wear shoes with closed toes. The temperature up high is usually the same as it is on the ground.
Because of safety rules, you can't drink alcohol on the plane, but we do provide a toast with champagne or sparkling cider right after you land.
We can move your flight to a later date at no extra charge if the weather isn't safe. You can also get a transferable open-date flight certificate.
Flying since 1978, we’ve shared our passion for ballooning across the scenic Puget Sound region. With over 40 years of accident-free experience.
